Membership Levels

TEXDRA offers several options for membership.  They are as follows:

• Professional CSR: Must be a current TX CSR in good standing, voting member - $150/year
• Court Reporting Firm: Must have a current CRF # in good standing, voting member - $150/year
• Associate: Videographers, scopists, proofreaders, instructors, out-of-state reporters and firms, etc., non-voting member - $75
• Supporting Professional CSR: Must be a current TX CSR in good standing, lifetime membership, voting member - $1,500 one time
• Supporting Court Reporting Firm: Must have a current CRF # in good standing, lifetime membership, voting member - $1,500 one time
  
• Student - In State: Any student currently enrolled in a court reporting program who lives in Texas (steno or voice), non-voting member - free
  
• Student - Out of State: Any student currently enrolled in a court reporting program who does not live in Texas (steno or voice), non-voting member - $20/year

TEXDRA is different.  We specialize in freelance reporting.  We give back -- free CE, legally researched guidance on rules and statutes, social events to raise our spirits, quick online posting of questions and jobs.  We fight for our profession nonstop, during legislative sessions and year around.

• Advocate for and protect all Texas court reporting professionals
• Welcome Texas CSRs (pen, steno, and voice) and Texas CRFs as voting members
• Specialize in freelance court reporting, including the statutes, rules, and codes governing court reporters and reporting firms
• Retain professional legislative consultant (lobbyist) and testify to legislators on behalf of Texas CSRs and firms
• Drafted pro-reporter legislation enacting remote reporting and revising further certificates
• Connect qualifying members with job referrals through The TEXDRA Connection, our online forum for posting jobs, asking questions, and sharing information
• Present semi-annual one-day seminars at affordable prices that meet all mandatory CE requirements for Texas CSR and CRF renewal
• Offer free online continuing education on a range of topics​
• Offer prorated dues for new members within six months of the annual renewal date
• Extend free membership to Texas court reporting students AND offer a free upgrade to Professional member status upon passing the CSR
• Host social events to keep you informed, updated, and involved

Student Membership Benefits
Becoming a TEXDRA student member is easy and affordable.

• Free student membership for Texas residents
• Only $20 for out-of-state students

Texas student members who have maintained their membership for at least three months prior to certification in Texas will have their membership upgraded to a professional membership at no cost for their first year (a benefit valued at $150) —a great way to start your career on strong footing.

Community & Connection
As a student member, you’ll gain access to our Facebook group, THISS (TEXDRA Helping Its Students Succeed). This supportive community is a place to ask questions, share experiences, and stay up to date on TEXDRA events, opportunities, and resources, all alongside fellow students and working reporters who want to see you succeed.

Mentorship That Moves You Forward
Students writing at 180 wpm and above, as well as new reporters in their first few years, are eligible for Sound Advice: The TEXDRA Mentorship Collective.
Sound Advice is designed to bridge the gap between school and real-world reporting. While traditional one-on-one mentorship can be difficult to sustain, this program ensures no student or new reporter feels alone during those critical early stages. Available 24/7, Sound Advice offers a reliable space to ask questions, gain insight, and receive guidance grounded in the standards and best practices of Texas court reporting.
